Joy Shannon is best known for the award-winning docuseries After The LockDown: Black In LA, directed by Joy, her nephew Jonathan Burnett and his father Charles Burnett. She is also known for her award- winning supernatural thriller My Dead Selfie, 3rd Generation Female Gangsta', and Uptown Angel (aka Rags To Reality) and others. Joy has a BFA from Howard Uni., and a MA in film from The American Uni.
